Why a Pediatric Dentist?

A pediatric dentist is a dentist who completes two additional years of training to acquire special skills for the treatment of infant, children, adolescents and children with special needs. This advanced training allows the pediatric dentist to provide care in even the most unique situations.

First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends the first visit to the pediatric dentist when the first tooth comes in. You will learn how to protect your infant’s dental health.

Prevention Visit

Regular dental visits help your child stay cavity-free. Teeth cleanings remove debris that builds up on the teeth, irritates the gums and causes decay. Fluoride treatments renew the fluoride content in the enamel, strengthening teeth and preventing cavities. Hygiene instruction improves your child’s brushing and flossing, leading to cleaner teeth and healthier gums.

What Happens in a Dental Check-up?

Dr. Febres will gently examine your child’s teeth, oral tissue and jaws. The teeth will be cleaned and polished followed by the application of fluoride solution.

Dr. Febres will talk to your child with understandable words so your child will be motivated to take responsibility for a healthy smile.
